CONTRACT ANALYST

LOCATION: Washington DC
Position Description:
- Perform developmental duties which are designed to orient the employee, who is serving in a trainee capacity, in the application of common contracting methods and contracts types, and to assist in the procurement of standard service; supply; and/or construction items, services, and/or materials through formal advertising and negotiation procedures using primarily firm fixed-price contracts.
- Perform procurement tasks usually consisting of specific, related tasks that are selected to orient the employee in the practical application of contracting methods, contract types, the Federal Acquisition Regulations, etc.
- Develop source lists of responsible contractors, coordinating with the small business specialist.
- Assist in monitoring contract performance and provide information and assistance to others relating to contracting work and prepares correspondence.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs research and documenting support utilizing data from the acquisition systems.
- Supports documenting data requests from internal and external customers.
- Schedules and documents contract related file reviews
- Assists with tracking contract administration actions
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have a Associate’s degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant Associate’s degrees AND at least 24 hours in business-related courses in any of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
- 2 years of related Contracts/Acquisition experience required
- DAWIA Contracting Level I, FAC-C Level I, or suitable equivalent certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of contracting principles, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of business practices and market conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Willing to work as part of a team and eager to learn about the acquisition practice
