ACQUISITION SPECIALIST

Position Description:
The Acquisition Specialist carries out predetermined and recurring tasks in direct support of the government client’s requirements owners or contracting office. Typically, the mid-level Acquisition Consultant works under the guidance of a Senior Consultant. Assignments may include but are not limited to full life cycle, “cradle to grave” contract planning, support and administration. Limited support functions may include acquisition planning, purchase order/procurement request support documentation preparation, solicitation preparation, market research/analysis, source selection and administration of terms and conditions, negotiation and preparation of contract award and modifications, cost/price analysis, support government in the evaluation of contractor performance, contract administration support, contract termination, and contract close-out. Exposure to FAR and/or associated FAR supplements.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparing, examining, analyzing, preparing for negotiations and revising contracts for Contract Officer signature.
- Responsible the preparation and revision of contracts that involve purchase of sale of goods and services
- Responsible for the acquisition, distribution, and store of equipment and supplies
- Oversee administration of contracts
- Prepare contract briefs and revisions, summarizing contractual requirements and budgets.
- Maintain detailed and organization contract files
- Prepare contract change notices, monitor contractor performance, including reporting and status of contract deliverables
- Perform contract closeout activities
- Provide contract summaries and ensure contract execution in accordance with agency policy
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees with at least 24 hours in business-related courses in any of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
- 4-8 years of related Contracts/Acquisition experience required.
- In-depth working knowledge of federal procurement regulations and policies, and be knowledgeable and experienced using electronic media, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.).
- One of the following Contracting related certifications: DAWIA Contracting Level II, FAC-C Level II (Level III desired), or suitable equivalent certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent writing skills and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Knowledgeable with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
- Ability to utilize GWAC and GSA contract vehicles.
- Ability to quickly grasp procurement terms, methodologies, and processes, prepare contract files and associated electronic documentation and create procurement actions (e.g., contract, order, mod) for contract execution.
- Proficiency in contract writing systems such as PRISM, PD2, and/or CLM. This agency employees Comprizion as their contract writing system.
