Responsibilities

• Duties may include acquisition planning, RFP/IFB preparation guidance, market research analysis, and selection and administration of terms and conditions. Individuals will also possess extensive working knowledge of the FAR and agency supplements as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust 
• Extensive working knowledge of the FAR and DFAR and agency supplements as required.
• Bachelor's degree plus 9-14 years of progressive government contract experience including management experience. Significant Contracts Management experience beyond 15 years of experience may be substituted for education requirement.
• Recent experience with hands on day to day Contract Specialist duties to include pre-award contract support, post-award contract management and negotiation techniques and skill in devising negotiation strategies to deal with contractors in resolving such problems as reducing costs, adjusting delivery schedules, and negotiating in sole source environments
• One of the following Contracting related certifications: DAWIA Contracting Level II, or FAC-C Level II required

Skills

• Ability to provide expert advice to agency directors and senior staff in contract administration and delivers executive level management and oversight to the contracts and pricing staff as needed.
• Ability to analyzes project requirement from inception to closeout and develops solutions to agency's needs.
